Development Process of Generative Phonology in China since 1980

Phonology as an important branch of linguistics failed to be given enough emphasis in China.The generative phonology started in China in the 1980s which was left 20 years behind the west.While in recent years the study in the generative phonology has made great progress both in theory introduction and application.
