Extracting XML data to relational database

Abstract

Storing XML data in relational database is an important problem in XML field.On the basis of several mapping ways,a method to extract XML data to relational database is proposed.Firstly,similar XML documents and produces their relational schemas is parsed according to the mapping relation,then these relational schemas are analyzed,an integration schema is produced and a relational database is created.Finally XML data is extracted and stored to relational database based on the mapping relationship.The method uses some relative simple data structure to conserver XML data information.The prime advantage of this method is independent of DTDs or XML schemas,and any similar XML documents is parsed and stored in the same database.A concrete experiment result show this method is effective.
