Abstract
A kind of SiC aqueous suspension was producted by washing, surface oxidizing and PEG coating the silicon carbide powders, and then its zeta potential and viscosity was tested.Based on the experimental results, the effect of surface treatments on the Rheological properties of SiC Aqueous Suspension was investigated systematically. The results showed that Zeta potential isoelectric point of silicon carbide powder cleaning with acid-base,deionized,and then oxided under 780 ℃ calcinations or coated with PEG tend to the direction of acid direction, potential difference greatly increases around the pH=11.8.It improves the rheological properties of SiC slurry,Rheology of the coated silicon carbide powder is improved better, potential difference nearly reachs to 20.
