The Cognitive Analysis of "X上" and "X里

In modern Chinese , on and are two nouns of locality that have high frequency of utilization. It is generally acknowledged that X shang (上) seldom communicates with X li (里) . Through deep investigation into various kinds of text, we find the cross not only at the simple space position but also in the concept category of the metaphor. The author tries to explain this kind of phenomenon in terms of metaphor.
