Investigation on Current Status of Water Consumption and Watersaving in Residential Areas of Shanghai

Based on questionnaire survey of water consumption and water-saving in typical Shanghai residential areas,the situation of water consumption and water-saving was analyzed.The results show that the current monthly averaged water consumption per capita is 4.32 m3,and the water is mainly used for bath and washing(39%),cooking(30%),toilet flushing(26%).The effective measures to save water are included: changing living custom to save bath and washing water consumption,developing and popularizing varieties of water-saving utensils for different home uses,strengthening propaganda and organization to enhance people's water-saving consciousness.
