Abstract
To study the effects of different gasification agents on the gasification performance of entrained flow coal gasifier, a simulation study for a two-stage dry feed gasifier developed in China was carried out. Using the CFD model proposed, gas temperature and mole fraction changes inside of the gasifier were analyzed under the typical situation. And the effects of different gasification agents on the gasification process, product gas components, gasification efficiency were discussed in detail. The results show that the gas temperature decreases along the gasifier height resulted from the chemical reactions in the gasifier. For the four gasification agents discussed, the gasification efficiency is high when the gasification agent is O2/H2O or O2/CO2. The gasification efficiency is the lowest and the syngas quality is poor when the gasification agent is air.
