Clinical observation of secondary intraocular lens implantation after lensectomy and vitrectomy with traumatic eyes

Objective To investigate the operation methods and clinical effects of secondary intraocular lens implantation after lensectomy and vitrectomy with traumatic eyes.Methods Retrospectively analyzed 62 cases(62 eyes)of secondary IOLs implantation after lensectomy and vitrectomy during 2002.6 and 2008.6 in our hospital.Depending on the state of capsule,different operation methods were chosen.Posterior chamber intraocular lens(PC-IOLs)implantation in ciliary sulcus for eyes with anterior or posteria capsule;PC-IOLs implantation with single lens loop suture affixed in ciliary sulcus for eyes with partial capsules which can support the other lens loop;PC-IOLs implantation with double lens loops suture affixed in ciliary sulcus for the eyes without capsules.Results All patients had been follwed up for 1 to 3 months.Postoperative visual acuity(VA)were improved in all the cases.VA0.05 in all the eyes;0.05-0.1 in 6 eyes;0.2-0.3 in 37 eyes;0.4-0.6 in 11 eyes;0.6 in 8 eyes.Conclusion secondary intraocular lens implantation makes great effect on VA recovery for patients without lens.Different operation method was chosen according to the state of capsule.
