Abstract
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of reasonable nutrition support on severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Methods Ninety-six cases of SAP were randomized into 2 groups. Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) was performed in group A and combination of enteral and parenteral nutrition was done in group B. Serum endotoxin, urine L/M,CD4/CD8 and IgG were detected to evaluate permeability of enteral mucosa and immune function, respectively. Meanwhile, serum TNF-α,IL-6,infection rate and mortality were determined. Results CD4/CD8 and IgG were significantly higher but serum endotoxin, urine L/M,serum TNF-α,IL-6,infection rate and mortality markedly lower in group B than in group A (P0.05). Conclusions Reasonable combination of enteral and parenteral nutrition can inhibit release of inflammatory cytokines and media. Therefore,it is suitable for treatment of SAP.
