Abstract
Objective To analyze the articles and citations published in Journal of Nursing Administration in 2004,so as to understand its current status and to evaluate the academic level and the quality of the journal.Method The method of bibliometric analysis was done to analyze the articles and citations published in Journal of Nursing Administration in 2004.Results There were 358 articles in the volume of 2004.The authors distributed in 30 provinces and cities and every article had 2.6 authors in average.The number of the total citations was 1 725 and the average number of citation was 4.82 per article.88.8% of the citations were Chinese,11.0% were English and 0.2% were Japaness.76.5% of the citations came from periodicals and 21.6% came from books.The co-citation rate of the journal was 4.1%.And 16 Chinese nucleus journals were cited.Conclusions The results suggested that although it has been published for less than four years,the journal has a strong influence on the scientific research in nursing field.As one of the major professional journals in nursing,it has published many high quality articles by excellent authors.
