Analysis of the relationship among blood pressure,age and height in 7-12 years old children

Objective To explore the relationship among blood pressure,age and height in 7-12 years-old children and to provide evidence for making blood pressure standard of children.Methods The data were from physical fitness and health surveillance of Chinese school students in 1985.The same amount of students were randomly selected by age,gender and height from every province.The relationship between height and blood pressure was analyzed when age and height was controlled separately.Results Both the boys' and the girls' blood pressure increased with age,without height and age being controlled.After age being controlled,the blood pressure level of boys and girls aged 7-12 was increased with the growth of height(P0.05).When height was controlled,on the whole,the difference between age and blood pressure were not significant(P0.05).Conclusion Blood pressure increases with the growth of height in 7-12 years-old children,which is affected little by age.
