Abstract
Butanone glycol ketal was synthesized from butanone and glycol in the presence of H3PW12O40 supported on the MCM-48 zeolite. The factors influencing the synthesis were studied and the best conditions were found out.The optimum conditions were as follows:the molar ratio of glycol to butanone was 1.6:1,the amount of catalyst was equal to 1.5% by weight of feedstocks, the reaction temperature was 78~104 ℃,and the reaction time was 2 h.H3PW12O40/MCM-48 was an excellent catalyst for synthesizing butanone glycol ketal and the product yield could reach over 68.1%.
