Abstract

[Objective]To apply transurethral enucleation(TERP)for benign prostatic hyperplasia, and compare the efficacy of transurethral resection(Transurethral resection of the prostate,TURP)for prostate.[Methods]64 patients with BPH were randomly divided into experimental group(transurethral enucleation,TERP)and control group(transurethral resection of the prostate,TURP)according to the admission order, and each group had 32 patients. Then we observed the operative time, blood loss, the amount of gland removed, catheterization time and postoperative hospital stay in the two groups; The complications of hyponatremia, urinary incontinence, secondary bleeding and urethral stricture were also compared;International Prostate Symptom IPSS,quality of life score QOL,maximum urinary flow rate Qmax and residual urine PUV were also compared.[Results]The surgical time, less blood loss, the amount of gland removed, catheterization time and postoperative hospital stay were significantly less than those of control group(P﹤0.05).In the control group, the incidence of low serum sodium was significantly lower(37.5%)than that of observation group(9.34%)(P﹤0.05).Postoperative IPSS,QOL,Qmax and PUV were significantly improved compared with preoperative(P﹤0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups.[Conclusion]Compared with transurethral enucleation,The application of transurethral resection for BPH has a short operation time, less bleeding and fewer complications, which is worth of popularization and application.
