Abstract

[Objective] To explore the influencing factors on acid-fast bacillus test for sputum specimens of pulmonary tuberculosis patients. [Methods] The sputum specimens were dyed with the Ziehl-Neelsen anti-acid dying method, and the clinic data of patients were retrospectively analyzed. [Results] Among the 2186 sputum specimens, 516 strains of Acid-fast bacilli showed to be positive with the positive rate of 23.6%. The types of sputum and the collection time of sputum had great influence on the positive rate of acid-fast bacillus. [Conclusion] The quality of sputum should be improved by paying attention to the collection time.
