The Development Status and Countermeasures of Rural Sports under the Background of New Rural Construction:Taking Poverty- Stricken Areas of Sichuan Province as an Example

In order to understand the development status and existing problems of rural sports in poverty- stricken areas in Sichuan and better carry out Nationwide Fitness Program and Farmers' Fitness Project,this paper does a research on the status of rural sports of 36 poor counties of Sichuan Province. The results show that: in the new rural construction,the rural sports in poverty- driven areas develops but is still in its infancy,mainly because of the low awareness,poor income,and inadequate investment for sports facilities and sports publicity. The paper analyzes the factors influencing rural sports development in poverty- stricken areas,and proposes corresponding countermeasures.
