Economic Development in Guizhou under the Strategy of Developing the Western Region

Since the introduction of the strategy of developing the western region,various measures have been taken and significant achievements made in Guizhou in infrastructure,power,environmental protection,industrial restructuring,science,technology and education,and marketization reforms.However,cross-section comparison indicates that Guizhou still lags behind other regions in economic and social development,market institution building,environmental protection,and investment and innovation in science and technology.These issues bear on sustainable development in Guizhou and deserve close attention.
