Performance of“Chinese Muduo New Drama”in Japan

Abstract

The paper reveals historical materials little known.Revolutionary Liu Yizhou found Guanghuang New Drama Troupe in 1914,and invited another modern drama troupe to Japan.They gave performances in the name of“Chinese Muduo New Drama”in Osaka and Tokyo,and acquired good reviews.It is the first international exchange in Chinese drama history.The performance introduced our modern drama to Japanese audience,received the information of Japanese drama circle,and promoted the development of early Chinese modern drama.
