Abstract

Macrobenthos was investigated at 21stations in Rushan Bay in both May and October,2011. A total of 161species(120species in May;108species in October)were found, including 83species of Polychaeta,24species of Mollusca,40species of Crustacea, and 14species of other taxa.Comparing the IRI(Indices of relative importance)index,it is found that Mediomastus sp.,Cossurella aciculata, Prionospio pygmaea, and Tharyx multifilis were the dominant species in both the two survey. The average abundance of macrobenthos was 2914.57ind./m2 in spring and 2771.59ind./m2in autumn; and the average biomass was 494.98g/m2in spring and 69.45g/m2in autumn. The range of ShannonWiener index of macrobenthos in the investigated waters was 0.673~4.528in spring, with an average of 3.335.While,in autumn, the number was 0.272~4.086,with an average of 3.198.With 40%similarity scale, the 21stations were divided into 5~6groups.There were 6groups in spring and 5groups in autumn.
