Three Subjects of Research on Shu Dialect in Chinese Ancient and Middle Ancient Times

The published research results and documents collections on Sichuan Dialect depict statically its modern vocabulary,and there is no comprehensive and systematic study on Bashu dialect in literature before Tang Dynasty.Modern Sichuan dialect,which took its shape in Ming and Qing Dynasties,evolved from ancient Shu dialect and Bashu dialect in Qin and Han Dynasties.A thorough and subtle research on its evolution is pioneering at present.The study on ancient and middle ancient Shu dialect is of great value to the research of Sichuan dialect history and the completing of the history of Chinese dialect and the broadening of the scopes of studying.
