The Military Function of Guizhou Military Government in Song Dynasty and Its Influence in the Following Dynasties

After the perdition of the North Song Dynasty,the central government of South Song Dynasty dispatched Guizhou Defence Army to Shannxi and Henan to fight against Jin Forces,thus successfully thwarted Jin’s intention to carry over Qinling,and their strategic plans to devour South Song Dynasty from West to East.In the process of Mongolia destroying the South Song Dynasty,the Mongolian Forces who eliminated the Nanzhao Kingdom which had existed more than five hundred years could not occupy Guizhou for twenty years.Finally it had to adopt peaceful means to change Guizhou from Qiannan Lu of Song Dynasty to Shunyuan Lu’s Xuanfu Department of Yuan Dynasty.Then the central government of Yuan Dynasty dispatched Guizhou Forces of old Song Sibotianyang to participate in the battle against Burma Army and Eight Hundred Daughters-in-law Kingdom,which consolidated their domination in Southwest.In Ming dynasty,the ruler changed Shunyuan Lu’s Xuanfu Department to Guizhou Xuanfu Department,but still sent Guizhou Forces to take part in the battle which destroyed the Liang King of Yunnan and Mongolia.
