Abstract

A new type of high-performance fiber filter was used in the advanced treatment of municipal wastewater. The treatment efficiency of SS and turbidity was investigated, and the impact of influent SS and turbidity on removal effect and the relationship between effluent turbidity and sampling time were studied. The results showed that when the influent SS and turbidity are 10 to 50 mg/L and 10 to 50 NTU,the effluent SS and turbidity can be reduced to less than 10 mg/L and 5 NTU,respectively. The removal efficiency of SS and turbidity reduced with the influent concentration increased. In one backwashing cycle, the best effluent quality was examined at the last one minute before backwashing, and the worst result was found in the backwashing process and one or two minutes after backwashing. Then with time increased, the removal efficiency enhanced gradually.
