Abstract
Objective: To measure the effect of resveratrol on the hepatoma cell line HepG2 cells cultured in vitro. Methods: We used MTT assay and flow cytometry to examine the effect of resveratrol on the hepatoma cell line HepG2 cell growth and the change of cell cycle of HepG2 cells, and detected telomerase activities. Results: Resveratrol had inhibitory action on the proliferation of hepatoma cell line HepG2,with IC_(50) of 5.91mg/L,flow cytometry analysis revealed that resveratrol could induce the S phase arrest of hepatoma cell line HepG2 and had an obvious depressant effect on telomerase activities. Conclusion: Resveratrol has obvious anti-tumor activities on murine hepatoma HepG2 by inducing S phase arrest.
