Abstract
High temperature oxidation and hot corrosion behaviors of MCrAlY coating, thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) and gradient thermal barrier coatings prepared by electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) have been investigated.Although these coatings showed excellent oxidation behavior, the mass gain for MCrAlY coatings was larger after being sprayed with a 2 mg/cm 2 deposit of Na 2SO 4 and tested at 950℃.The lower mass gain for TBCs and GTBCs indicated that the ceramic coating has a benefit to improve the hot corrosion behavior. However, thermal cyclic life time for TBCs and GTBCs decreased during hot corrosion testing.
