Abstract
Objective Thyroid surgery to prevent the experience of the recurrent laryngeal nerve injury. Methods The clinical data of 283cases treated from January 2007 to January 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. Among these cases, 205 underwent anatomy of the RLN, 78 did not Injuries of the RLN were observed. Results There were one cases of temporary nerve injuries in the RLN anatomy group(0. 49% ) but no permanent nerve injury case was found. There were 5 cases of temporary nerve injuries and 1 cases of permanent nerve injuries in the non-RLN anatomy group(7.7% ). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P0. 01).Conclusion The anatomy of the recurrent laryngeal nerve in thyroid surgery is effective in reducing and preventing RLN injury.
