Abstract
Objective:To explore the characteristic of event-related potentions(ERPs)and P300 in children with mental retardation( MR). Methods: 30 children with MR were selected as experiment group and 30 normal children as control group. All of them were accepted the examination of visual ERPs and P300,analized the results. Results: Compared with the control group,P300 latency in children with MR were apparently longer,P300 amplitude decreased significantly in children with MR,there were significant statistical differences between two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion: P300 latency and amplitude of ERPs could objectively reflect cognitive function in children with MR,which can be used as an objective electrophysiological index for assisting in the diagnosis of mental retardation of children in clinical.
