Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical outcomes of Ho:YAG laser lithotripter with minimally invasive endoscopy in the treatment of urinary calculi.Methods 4 cases of bladder calculi,27 cases of ureteral calculi and 19 cases of renal calculi were treated with Ho:YAG laser lithotriptor by minimally invasive ureteroscope and percutaneous nephrolithotoy technique from Feb.to July,in 2006.Results The 4 cases of bladder calculi and the 27 cases of ureteral calculi had all achieved stone-free at 1 session;and of 19 cases of renal calculi,15 also achieved this result.All the patients recovered well post-operatively and no major complications were found.Conclusion The technique of Ho:YAG laser lithotriptor with minimally invasive endoscopy is safe and effective in the treatment of urinary calculi and has such advantages as minimal trauma,less blood loss,fewer complications and easiler recovery.
