Abstract
The subjects of the projectile impacting, penetrating, perforating and damaging to the concrete target are concerned by many researchers. As a kind of artificial composite material, the concrete is characterized by its compressive strength greater than its tensile strength.Due to its complexity, the penetration process of the projectile becomes more complex.Based on the experiment for the projectile penetrating three-layer concrete target plate, the total penetration process was simulated by using the transient dynamics analysis software LS-DYNA.Some simulated data, such as acceleration curve, crater diameter and spalling diameter were compared with the experimental results, the former coincides with the latter. The compared results show that the numerical simulation for the projectile penetrating concrete target plate is effective,if the material model, its parameters and the corresponding control conditions are chosen correctly.
