Abstract
Objective:To investigate the prevalence and characteristics of anti- social personality disorder(ASPD) among heroin dependent patients with methadone maintenance treatment.Methods:Six hundred and three methadone- maintained heroin dependent patients were interviewed by well- trained psychiatrists according to ASPD module of Chinese version of Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview.Results:The lifetime prevalence of ASPD was 36.8%(95% CI:33.0%-40.6%); Male in gender,with education level of primary school,unmarried,unemployed,injected heroin intravenously and average heroin dose ≥ 1 g · d- 1before entering methadone maintenance treatment,were significantly associated with higher prevalence of ASPD.Conclusion:ASPD is common among heroin addicts under methadone maintenance treatment,and special clinical attention should be paid to this issue.
