Abstract
Objectives: To probe into the neuroendoscopic locally applied anatomy in the cerebellopontine angle(CPA) and the utility of the neuroendoscopic assisted microsurgery. Methods: A craniotomy was performed on 2 cadaver heads and 38 patients with CPA lesions by neuroendoscope. Results: All of neurovascular structures in the CPA can be inspected by neuroendoscope. No postoperative complications and death occurred in the 38 patients. Conclusions: The CPA area can be divided into cranial, medial, and caudal three levels and each level has the known vessels and nerves under neuroendoscope. The neuroendoscopic assisted microsurgery for the cerebellopontine angle lesions can increase the microsurgical treatment effect and decrease the operative risk.
