Abstract
For definition of the source system of Jurassic Toutunhe Formation in Beisantai area of Junggar Basin, the authors calculate the erosion thickness of the Formation, restore the palaeogeomorphology during this Formation, and judge the source direction in the studied area, using sandstone content and heavy mineral combination analysis methods. The deposits of the Toutunhe Formation have two source systems in Beisantai area, including Shaqi uplift in the north and Bogurda mountain in the south. The Beisantai uplift was underwater low uplift during the Toutunhe Formation, and did not provide source.
