Progress on Ecology of Japanese Encephalitis Virus

The epidemic encephalitis B caused by Japanese encephalitis virus is a serious mosquito-borne zoonosis.JEV can disorder human central nervous system and cause viral encephalitis with a high mortality.As the large range and widely distribution of its natural host,it is necessary to carried out the study on ecology of JEV to prevent this disease outbreak.This review summarizes the etiology,geographical distribution,natural hosts,vectors,epidemiological patterns of the disease and the relationships of transmission cycle among mosquitoes,pigs and human.And this review also introduced the significance of investigation of JEV ecology to control epidemic encephalitis B.
