Abstract
On the basis of illustrating definition of ITS architecture and research background, authors mainly presented the methodology proposed in the development of Beijing regional architecture.Firstly, the functional needs were analyzed based on investigation results. Then, the functional needs were mapped to user services as defined by the Chinese architecture.Subsequently, the user services were converted to market packages described in the American architecture. Finally, the physical architecture composed of physical entities and architecture flows were developed and ITS standards were identified based on analyzing physical architecture. At the end of the paper, some conclusions were also drawn.
