Abstract
In order to explore the relationship between esterase and resistance, the resistant index of each generation of propoxur resistant strain and the esterase activity of mosquitoes were detected by WHO bioassay and microplate method. The resistance index rose up to 11.26 times after 43 generation's selection. The average inhibit rate of AchE activity came down with the generation. The individual frequency of inhibit rate less than 30% came up with the generation, and it showed positive correlation with resistance level. The activity of NSE became higher with the generation, and the individual frequency with OD value no less than 0.9 came up gradually. This result was consistent with that of WHO bioassay. The insensitive AchE of propoxur resistant strain showed positive correlation with resistance, and the NSE activity was also correlated with resistance.
