Application of Contingent Value Method On Evaluation of the Non-Use Values of the Biodiversity——A case study of Laotudingzi nature reserve

Abstract

The contingent valuation method ( CVM) is used to estimate the non-use values of Laotudingzi nature reserve by investigating 320 residents'Willingness To Pay ( WTP ) around this area,according to random sampling mode. It shows that the mean WTP for the non-use values of Laotudingzi nature reserve is 44. 45 yuan per-people,therefore the total WTP is 4. 30×108 yuan·a-1,in which the existence value is 2. 33×108 yuan·a-1,the heritage value is 1. 27×108 yuan·a-1and the selection value is 0. 70×108 yuan·a-1. The impact of total samples factors on WTP is also analyzed. The result shows that income level and favor are extremely closely correlated with WTP ,but sexual distinction,occupation and education level are not correlated with WTP.
