Abstract
As viewed from cultivated land changes, the paper analyzed the regional disparity of grain production in Jiangsu Province since 1990.The results indicate that the shift from evenly regional self-support to highly spatial imbalance for Jiangsu's grain production, with the unvaried grain yield in the period of 1990~2009.Moving towards regional disparity, the decrease and altered use of cultivated land in South Jiangsu area cause its rapid grain shortage, whereas the intensive cultivation makes Central and North Jiangsu to be totally granary. With regional specialization in grain production,a scheme of cultivated land trade is then presented to balance the grain economy between the yielding and demanding areas,as well as to improve its production of both sides respectively for the regional food security.
