Abstract
Eyeballing and microscopy observation on Enteromorpha spp.from the coastal area of Zhanjiang were carried out.Six species and one form, including E.linza,E.intestinalis,E.compressa,E.prolifera,E.clathrata,E.flexuosa and E.intestinalis f.broadifolium, were determined primarily by comparative anatomical method combining with statistical analyses..These species were characterized by the morphology of branches(present or absent, more or less),the differentiation of diameter sizes of thallus between main branches and lateral branches, the cellular sizes in different parts of the thallus, and the quantities of pyrenoid in cells. The length of six species decended as the following:E.prolifera,E.clathrata,E.linza,E.intestinalis,E.compressa and E.intestinalis f.brordifolium.Cells of these Enteromorpha were polygonal, the size of cells varied in different parts of thallus, and the cells in middle part were smaller except for E.flexuosa and E.clathrata.Pyrenoid was present in cells of all species, among which one pyrenoid is present in E.intestinalis,E.linza and E.compressa, more than two pyrenoids were observed in other species, and even more than six pyrenoids were found in E.clathrata and E.flexuosa.The morphological and microstructural characters of these species were described quantitatively, and the identification key was generalized. What's more,non-tubular structure in the Enteromorpha algae was found.
