Abstract
Objective To explore the optimal surgery timing and technique on traumatic cataract.Methods According to the age,traumatic degree and uveitis of patients, 138 cases(138 eyes) with traumatic cataract were implanted posterior chamber intraocular lens(IOL) primary or secondary in different time. Results Three months after surgery, corrected visual acuity ≧ 0.5 was in 73 eyes(66.36%) in primary group and in 16 eyes (57.14%) in secondary group.Corrected visual acuity ≧ 1.0 was in 32 eyes (29.09%) and in 7 eyes (25%) respectively.There wasn't significant difference in vision between primary and secondary group ( P 0.05). Conclusion Primary IOL implantation is adapt to the cases with better eye condition and no uveitis, secondary implantation is suitable for the children or cases with serious trauma and uveitis.
