Abstract

The curtain wall of Oriental Art Center characterized longspan,over-length and curved surface. In order to avoid the weakness of complicated elements in the traditional support system,a new steel frame-brace-cabling support system is presented in this paper. The steel frame is formed by joined elliptical column and tube beam with the rigid connection at the side.Brace system is put behind to reduce the size of the column and strengthen the frame.Prestressed cable between the curtain wall and frame is used to strenthen the stability of the system. The whole system is joined to the basement at the bottom and connected to the up-chord of the roof truss by the horizontal tube. The spring used on the support can reduce the affect of the temperature modification. In this paper, firstly, the form of the system is introduced.Secondly, with ANSYS program, the static and dynamic analysis under different load cases, also with the linear and non-linear analysis of the system,is presented. Finally, joint design of the system is introduced.
