Analysis of Traffic Flow on the Circular Expressway in Chongqing City

With the rapid development of transport construction,the construction of circular expressway is increasing.However,the related theories of the circular road are mostly analyzed qualitatively.The quantitative analysis is insufficient,and the analysis of the actual traffic flow on the completed circular expressway is rare.The characters of traffic flow,the types and the functions of the circular expressway were studied.With Chongqing circular expressway as an example,the actual operation of the internal traffic flow,the in-and-out traffic flow and the cross-boundary traffic flow was analyzed empirically and quantitatively.The analysis shows that the planning,construction and operation of the circular expressway require in-depth analysis of traffic needs of economic and social development,coordination with the internal and external urban road network,and prudent decision-making.
