Abstract
In this paper, the technique of two-stage fuel injection is used to control mixture preparation and combustion process of an in-cylinder direct injection gasoline engine. This engine and its electronic fuel injection control system are introduced. A series of experiments by altering the injection parameters is carried out to test the influence on engine performances. The test results show that the engine performance is greatly affected by the second injection timing and the ratio between the first and second injected quantities, and the fuel economy is better as the engine runs at the A/F ratio of 18∶1.
