Abstract

Objective To investigate p53 expression in ultraviolet light B(UVB)-induced apoptotic human keratinocytes enriched with epidermal stem cells. Methods Keratinocytes enriched with epidermal stem cells and normal primary keratinocytes were isolated and induced apoptosis by UVB.The expression of p53 was investigated by Western blotting. Results UVB irradiation increased p53 expression of cells.Compared to normal primary keratinocytes,p53 expression of keratinocytes enriched with epidermal stem cells significantly increased at 20 and 40 mJ/cm2(P0.05).Conclusion p53 expression of human epidermal stem cells are more susceptible than other keratinocytes.
