Abstract

Aerial aluminum alloy LY12 was strengthened using laser shock peening technology. After laser shock peening, the residual stress at the surface of the material increased 100 MPa,the strengthened depth reached about 1.5 mm which was 2-5 times deeper than that by shot peening.
