On the research of Manuel Castells

In order to promote the research on network society and deeply understand information times,it is of significance to gain an insight into the relevant theory of Manuel Castells,an information sociologist and network sociologist.The article first explains the sense and influence of research on Manuel Castells,and then introduces his academic changing processes and main theories of new city society,information society and network society, and reviews researches on Manuel Casteils at home and abroad.Finally,the article puts forward proposals on the research on Manuel Castells.
