Observation of Yushen decoction on diabetic nephropathy

Objective To observe the effect of Yushen decoction on diabetic nephropathy. Methods 75 patients with diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in control group (n=26) were treated by routine therapy. Patients in treatment group (n=49) were treated by combination of routine therapy and Yushen decoction (a dose of 300 ml every day). The therapeutic course was 30 days in both groups. 24h Urine protein, FBG, SCr, BUN, TC and TG were measured before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate in treatment group (87.86%)was higher than that in control group (65.38%, P0.05). In treatment group there were obvious difference in changes of indexes between before and after treatment (P0.05 or P0.01). Improvement of 24 h Urine protein, SCr and TG in treatment group were superior to those in control group (P0.01). Conclusion Yushen decoction has a good effect on improvement of glucose and lipid metabolism. And protection of kidney function.
