Optimization of indica/japonica rice cross breeding strategy and breeding practice

Indica/japonica rice cross breeding is a basic approach to achieve breakthrough in rice breeding.As the subject to develop indica rice introgression by japonica rice,various breeding strategies of indica/japonica rice cross were analyzed.The use of typical japonica rice and adoption of three-way cross(backcross) were preferential method with labor-consumed.To solve the problem,Indica CMS line/typical japonica rice with maintaining ability//indica rice with restoring ability,a strategy which can shorten the duration of breeding with little workload,was put forward.The course of the breeding and the achievements were reviewed and prospect of breeding was viewed.
