Abstract

The species diversity of ants in different forest belts of Mt.Taibai.was studied.Species abundance, species diversity and species evenness were analyzed by using Margalef species abundance model and Shannon Wiener biodiversity index H′ and evenness indexes J sw respectively.Based on similarity coefficients, nine forest belts were clustered with the systematic clustering. The result showed that with the variation of altitude and forest belt, there was great difference of ants distribution in different forest belts. In low altitude and abundant forest belt, ant species, population and biodiversity index and abundance index were high;on the contrary, they were low.Ant species abundance and biodiversity index in south slope was higher than that of the same altitude in north slope.
