Abstract
The combination of Java and VRML constitutes the perfect integrated platform to create large scale of virtual world that based on network, especially suit for virtual assembly world design of distributed VRML scene. An approach to building virtual environments is proposed on the basis of VRML and Java in this paper. That is, I-DEAS is adopted to realize the physical modeling and assembly designing of the virtual product; edit the VRML files exported by I-DEAS, insert the necessary sensor notes to heighten interactive capability, the Script and EAI of VRML is utilized to integrate them organically. Based on this technology, the dynamic creation of VRML scene, the assembly control and animation of assembly sequence are realized.
