Abstract
An indoor positioning experimental platform based on ZigBee technology was constructed. In the laboratory corridor, two experiments including RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) ranging and positioning were done on the platform.First, linear regression analysis is used on the data collected from the RSSI ranging experiment to obtain the specific ranging model in the current environment. Then a positioning algorithm based on RSSI has been implemented by designing software for both beacon and unknown nodes.Positioning accuracy evaluation results show that the algorithm proposed by the paper has its average positioning error of 2.3 m which meets the requirement of most indoor scenes.
