Abstract
Holistic methodology is one of effective methods to understand the development laws of complex matters. Concrete repair is a multi-level complex system. It is an effective way for people to understand the deterioration mechanism of concrete and guide the design and construction of concrete repair using the holistic methodology. From the aspect of the holistic methodology, the following factors such as the compatibility between repair materials and existing concrete, the permeability of repair phase, the internal and external conditions, the design of repair system and thd selection of concrete repair techniques and materials etc. should be considered fully for durable concrete repair.
