Abstract
OBJECTIVE To detect the acid-fast bacilli in the sputum samples by TB-Beads and discuss its clinic application. METHODS A total of 102 sputum samples were obtained.Then the acid-fast bacilli were detected and the results were compared with those from the group by centrifugation method. RESULTS Compared with centrifugation method,the more clearer arthroscopic characteristics was found following the TB-Beads,the acid-fast bacilli also looked brighter.In the 102 sputum samples,the positive rate of centrifugation method was 47.1%,while the positive rate of TB-Beads was 51.0%,54 samples were negative by centrifugation while 4 samples in these 54 samples were positive through the TB-Beads.The positive grades were higher from the TB-Beads in the same sample,the difference showed statistical significance(P0.01). CONCLUSION The TB-Beads shows simple and fast operation,higher positive rate,palpable and effective concentration,and is suitable for tuberculosis diagnosis in the lab.
