Abstract
An equation of longshore current generated by longshore variation of wave height is derived from momentum equations.Superimposing this equation with the equation of longshore current generated by obliquely incident waves derived by M.S.Longuet-Higgins,a longshore current equation including both effect can be obtained.Futhermore,a corresponding longshore transport rate relationship is derived for engineering use.
